Sally Tyrrell leaves us at the start of this school year which would have been her 35th on the staff at SIS. She joined Stantonbury Campus in 1986 as Head of Dance. Her infectious energy and genuine interest in young people and their development as a teacher has been a cornerstone of the school. She also built a flourishing Performing Arts department which has seen countless impressive productions and launched many careers in drama, dance and the arts more widely.

More recently Sally joined the leadership team of the re-named SIS and brought to it a valuable knowledge of the school’s bones blended with an undimmed ambition for it to flourish again, celebrating its focus on the arts as a key element of the curriculum in the contemporary world of education which has seen some sad retrenchment to narrower concerns.

Students, staff and families will miss Sally. We thank her for her exceptional loyalty and service to Stantonbury and send her every good wish for the future.
