Careers Adviser Apprentice

We are looking for a Careers Adviser Apprentice to join our School team. The Careers Adviser duties will contribute towards the smooth running of the school’s careers service and administrative services in school.

• Taking to students about their abilities, interests, and achievements • Exploring learning and work opportunities • Providing information and advice to students, allowing them to make decisions

• Agreeing careers action plans with students to support their progress through education and training • Helping students to overcome barriers to careers, training, and study progression • Developing relationships with employers, colleges, universities, and training providers • Keeping up to date with occupational and labour market information • Developing and delivering workshops that help students to become more self-aware of their skills, knowledge, and positive characteristics • Devolving and delivering workshops that prepare students for the World of Work • Maintaining the School’s online careers platform and producing reports using the platform • Administrative duties as directed by the Careers and Associate Development Manager/Lead Careers Adviser • Running a lunchtime careers drop-in service • Participating in events at the school (during and after school) • Participating in examination results days (in school holidays) providing an information and advice service to students, parents, and staff • Have Level 3 careers qualifications or a counselling qualification • Have a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 5 (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics • Have a Level 3 qualification, equivalent to three A-Levels at pass or above • Be an advanced user of Microsoft Office, the Internet, email, and social media platforms • Be willing and capable of studying and training for Level 4 and 6 career qualifications.
